Primary Care Ophthalmology

Primary Care Ophthalmology
This session chaired by Miss Stella Hornby & Miss Rajni Jain will cover topics relevant for continuing professional development for general ophthalmologists, GPs with a special interest in ophthalmology and Optometrists with an extended role. There will be a mixture of relevant CPD on clinical practical ophthalmology as well as on elective transformation of patient pathways. Clinical topics this year will include updates watery eyes, the vitreoretinal interface, and how to diagnose optic neuritis.  We will also cover the NHS Transformation Project for Ophthalmology, use of artificial intelligence in cataract follow ups & prioritisation. We will round the day off with a series of interesting cases - the ever popular ‘Hornby’s Odd Ball Eye Cases’. The style will be friendly and interactive and would be relevant to any doctor (trainee or not) and/ or optometrist who sees general ophthalmology patients in a community or hospital setting and delegates will be encouraged to join in the discussion with questions or comments from their own experience. There is good opportunity for networking in the coffee and lunch breaks. This seminar will be held live. If government rules change, it will be converted to online.
