Cataract Advanced Training with Simulation Course (CATS) 26 November 2026
This course focuses on advanced cataract surgery skills including the management of posterior capsule rupture, zonular weakness, small pupils, and secondary and toric IOL implantation. The course programme is designed to deliver an immersive hands-on experience using high-fidelity simulation technology to increase confidence in complication management. The primary focus is on active skills practice and technique refinement, with minimal reliance on traditional lecture-based teaching. Participants will practice techniques for anterior vitrectomy, small pupil management, secondary and toric IOL implantation, IOL removal, and other challenging scenarios. The course is aimed at senior trainees (ST5 – ST7) or trainees who have completed at least 250-300 cases as primary surgeon, Fellows, and Consultants.
