Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK)

Since 2006, DMEK has been growing as a popular technique for endothelial keratoplasty for corneal endothelial pathologies. DMEK allows the selective replacement of the patient’s diseased Descemet membrane, including its endothelium with healthy donor tissue. As you may know, DMEK has the advantages of excellent visual outcome, very good restoration of the corneal anatomy, low complication rates, and potentially longer graft survival rates. We have a multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic Corneal Surgeons and Researchers waiting to welcome you. We will share the details of this procedure with you, including hands-on wet lab experiences of DMEK with human donors. Many Corneal Surgeons, Fellows, and Trainees have already taken this course in the past with us and many have successfully started performing DMEK afterward.
