Introduction to DMEK and DSEK surgery - 8 July 2021
Selective endothelial transplantation has become the standard approach for treating corneal endothelial failure, with DMEK and DSEK techniques effective and suitable in different clinical situations. This course is an introduction to the theory and practise of DMEK and DSEK, with an emphasis on small-group wet-lab surgery. The course instructors (Leyland and Anandan) each have more than 10 years’ experience in selective endothelial transplantation, having first organised the RCOphth DSEK wet-lab in 2013. Appropriate material is provided for donor preparation of DMEK and DSEK surgery. The course is suitable for consultants and for senior trainees intending on a career in corneal surgery.
