Glaucoma Simulated Surgery Skills Course - 24 January 2025

This is an intense one day trabeculectomy surgical simulation training course.  The gold-standard Moorfields ’Safe Surgery’ trabeculectomy technique will be deconstructed, and each step discussed in detail with the aid of video and practical demonstration.  Participants will engage in sustained deliberate practice of individual steps, with special emphasis being placed on practice of: Scleral flap formation Sclerostomy Releasable sutures Conjunctival suturing  Once all the steps are learnt, participants will be able to perform a full procedure using high-fidelity artificial trabeculectomy eyes; and evaluate surgical competence against a surgical competency assessment rubric.
