Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery - 27 September 2024

This one day intense simulation-based surgical training course for manual small incision cataract surgery covers all the crucial steps needed for competence in a cataract procedure which is safe, suitable and sutureless for mature and brunescent cataracts. It is the most common surgical procedure performed for cataracts in many parts of the world. This blended course provides a wealth of online resources enabling the majority of the day to be spent in learning and sustained deliberate practice of steps including the sclerosis-corneal tunnel and manual nucleus extraction. The course is modelled on the OLIMPICS Trial, and would be suitable for novice surgeons as well as proficient phaco cataract surgeons alike. Open to OST 3 and above, SAS doctors and Consultants.
